Cheap Holidays to Santa Eulalia

Cheap Holidays to Santa Eulalia

Santa Eulalia’s a classy little resort on Ibiza’s south-east coast in the Balearic Islands. It’s earned a reputation for being the island’s gastronomic centre, and also comes with art galleries, designer boutiques and high-end gift shops. There’s a sophisticated marina here, too, with more restaurants and bars. And the spotlessly clean sand keeps up the standard on the resort’s two beaches.

Of Santa Eulalia’s beach duo, the first is right in the heart of town. It’s a 300 metres long stretch of golden sand and comes with an ample supply of sunloungers, umbrellas and watersports. A pretty tree-lined promenade holds a full deck of bars and eateries. When you want to ring the changes, there’s also the slightly longer Mariner’s Beach – you can take a lovely riverside walk from here, too.

Santa Eulalia has managed to retain an authentic old-world feel and still oozes bags of traditional Balearic Island charm. The locals are open and friendly, and you’ll find the cafés and bars of the town centre are always welcoming – you’ll be on first-name terms with the regulars in no time. Trying out your Spanish here will go down particularly well, too. Santa Eulalia is a fantastic option for couples looking for a relaxing getaway.

You’re just a 20-minute drive away from the capital, Ibiza Town. There’s plenty of history inside the fortress walls of the UNESCO-listed old town – cobbled streets, Gothic buildings, churches and a 14th-century cathedral. You’ll also find galleries, museums and gift shops here – plus, a rather spectacular marina that showcases some of the Med’s most luxurious yachts.

What are the beaches like in Santa Eulalia?

You could easily spend your whole holiday lounging on Santa Eulalia’s own splendid beach. It’s got a wealth of facilities, including lifeguards and disabled access, and follows a beautiful natural curve in front of the resort. You’ll find water sports and diving schools aplenty at the neighbouring marina.

The neighbouring beach is called Mariner’s Beach. It’s a bit quieter, and has something unique in the island group – a river! Indeed, the pretty harbour-side is at the estuary of the only river in the Balearics, with a restored Roman bridge just upstream.

You don’t need to limit yourself though, this part of Ibiza is overflowing with beautiful beaches. Head to Es Niu Blau beach, a walkable couple of kilometres away for a smaller, quieter beach with the trendy Pura Vida Beach Club to provide your cocktails. Big, broad Es Cana beach is also within walking distance, as is the water sports favourite, S’Argamassa Beach, home of the famous Nikki Beach Club.

Things to do in Santa Eulalia

From art galleries to an exclusive yacht marina, Santa Eulalia holidays will take your breath away. Puig De Missa is an historic area with a church that tells a story of a time when pirates were among the most frequent visitors to this beautiful shoreline. You’ll be able to boast of completing the climb to the lookout setting of this beautiful old building, parts of which date back to the 16th century. What was once the perfect perch for spotting trouble is now the perfect spot for picnicking with beautiful sea views.

Take to the waters while you’re in this stunning seaside setting. The marina at Santa Eulalia has its share of millionaire’s yachts, but it’s also the start of plenty of affordable maritime adventures that showcase the beautiful Ibiza coastline. You can cruise cheaply to Ibiza Town for a day’s shopping, or explore secret coves along the coast. The neighbouring island of Formentera is a smaller version of Ibiza, with beaches that are on a par.
