The Parador de Alarcón is located on the
top of the Pico de Hidalgos, over a former walled medieval castle surrounded by
the Júcar river, with views of the charming town of Alarcón, a
Historic-Artistic Site. In the surrounding area you will have the chance to go
hiking in the Hoz de Alarcón area, following the course of the Júcar river. The
hotel has few rooms, all of which are decorated in keeping with the building,
with wooden floors and stone walls. It also has several lounges to relax, as
well as an outdoor garden. In its dining room, located in the lower part of the
castle, guests can taste local specialities, such as the Puchero con Verduras
(stew with vegetables), quail stew, lomo de orza (pork loin), Ajo Mortero
(purée of cod, potatoes, olive oil and garlic), or Morteruelo (pork liver stew)
.
