The Parador is located in the historic centre of the town, which has been declared a National Monument, just a few meters away from the main tourist attractions of the town. Just two kilometres away you can visit a zoo, and about 15 kilometres away, the charming village of Comillas. In the surrounding area you can visit the Cabárceno Park and the prehistoric caves of Altamira. Its rooms are very cosy, in a rustic style with a stately air, and have wooden windows. Its restaurant, the Jardín de Gil Blas, offers the best of Cantabrian gastronomy, such as cocido montañés (Cantabrian stew), beef sirloin and, of course, an exquisite selection of the best local cheeses.
