In Montego Bay there’s a different beach for every day of the week. Go on snorkeling or diving adventures at the Montego Bay Marine Park and explore colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish or check out the real celebrity spot, Doctor’s Cave Beach, a 300-metre swathe of gently shelving sand, which has got watersports, coral reefs, and a 100-year-old bathing club. Then, there’s Harmony Beach Park, where tree-shaded lawns offer up plenty of picnic space. Sunset Beach is another popular sunbathing spot – this one comes with the added bonus of being close to the airport, which means it also attracts a plane-spotting crowd.

Often referred to as the complete resort, Montego Bay is known for its luxury hotels, picture perfect beaches and exuberent nightlife. Running parallel to the oceanfront is Gloucester Avenue, now known as the famous Hip Strip. By day, this 3-kilometre stretch of shops, chain restaurants and theme bars is teeming with street vendors and holidaymakers, while at night it’s where people come to let their hair down. For a change of scene, Downtown, fanning out from the cobblestone Sam Sharpe Square, is worth exploring, with historic landmarks like Gully Market all part of the appeal.
